An annual weekend music Festival, starting on the 2nd Friday in June, with the emphasis on sessions and participation. The present format is an opening concert, ceilidh, song writing competition and a "recycled instrument" competition, plus sessions in a variety of locations throughout the town.
The Festival is a well-established event in the local calendar, and attracts musicians from the local area, and from across Scotland and England.
A central flat campsite is provided for the weekend by Midlothian Council.
Located just beside the A720 Edinburgh Bypass A701 (Straiton) junction, Loanhead is easy to get to.
