The 7th Annual Northern Lights Bluegrass and Old Tyme Music Festival (Aug 17-19) will be held at Ness Creek near Big River, SK. The event is situated in a lovely little clearing in the boreal forest, just to the west of Prince Albert National Park (though you have to take the Big River highway to get there). While the grounds are better known as the home of the Ness Creek Music Festival, this particular weekend will be dedicated to a smaller and quieter audience. Camping and RVs are the norm, and food services will also be on site for the weekend.  This year’s lineup includes Town Mountain (North Carolina), Gordie MacKeeman and his Rhythm Boys (Prince Edward Island), Foghorn String Band (Oregon), Cajun Country Revival (Louisiana) and much more. In keeping with bluegrass festival tradition, a Music camp will also be held at the festival site August 13-17 with instructors from the mainstage line-up.
