Crown Family Fun Fest Start: 5 Jun 2010 12:00 pm End: 5 Jun 2010 4:00 pm Saturday, June 5th. The Americana Music Academy will have a different location for it's usual Saturday jam session. It will be at the Crown Toyota/Chevrolet/Scion dealership on 3400 South Iowa in Lawrence, KS. They will be there from 2pm to 4pm. The festival is free to the public and goes from noon to 4pm. There will be a jump house for the kids, the Lawrence Corvette Car Club will have their Corvettes there, food, prizes, and more! Come Join us! Swing, Standards and Show Tunes Jam (Monthly on 1st Saturday) Start: This is a monthly jam session on the first Saturday of each month. We play swing music, standards and show tunes. You won't go wrong if you bring a copy of the Real Book vol 1 and perhaps 2 (although not all the tunes we play are drawn from these books). The level of play is intermediate to advanced. We play primarily acoustic stringed instruments. Gently amplified and wind instruments are also welcome. A grand piano is available at the location where we play if you don't want to bring your own ivories.
