EMILY DAWSON AND MONDRAGON Start: 2 Oct 2009 5:00 pm She Sings! She Plays! She Dances! You are invited to EMILY DAWSON'S welcome back concert at Benedictine College after she completed her MASTERS in IRISH MUSIC PERFORMANCE. A stalwart of the Celtic Music Club while an undergraduate at BC, she fulfilled her dreams by going to graduate school at the University of Limerick. NOW SHE IS BACK with MONDRAGON, the Celtic Music Band she performs with in her Current home, Golden, CO. The concert is Free! (although a voluntary donation from community members will be appreciated at the door. This will be given to the Acoustic jam at St. Matthews United Church (Monthly on 1st Friday) Start: This is a great jam hosted at St. Matthews United Church of Christ in Riverside, MO. It is put on by the members of the church. It is set up like a concert, with the player's chairs facing an audience, but it is not run like a concert. The song selection passes around the room, and the selections include old-time fiddle, celtic, country and the rare blues/rock number. Acoustic instruments and voices make up the group. The church members kindly "pay" the musicians with home made cookies and cakes. All skill levels are welcome.
