Jam update. Saturday, March 28 3:30pm: We are still on for tonight. The first two folks in report little problem getting here. Be careful if you do come. It's certainly been messy here. The ice stopped around 1pm and it's light snow now. So far many folks have called to confirm, many intend to make it aside from those who are furthest away, especially to the East where the storm headed after the worst bits hit here. This can be a power session with up to 15 musicians sometimes. Very common to see 6-10. We play mainly 'pure drop' traditional irish tunes. ***The craic is mighty*** The Gaf has good food, drinks and a very supportive landlord. There is always a good crowd of punters, including a bevy of lovely ladies who come for the tunes, drinks, dancing and who generally like to get out of line.

Our meetings consist of playing ukes, yapping about ukes, and learning about ukes. At each of our gatherings, members are encouraged to print out and bring a new tune. We always try and have some for the novice as well as the more intermediate (should I say advanced?) musicians. There are no egos and everyone is there because they love ukuleles and ukulele music.

We meet on the third Saturday of April for our regular jam session where we play primarily contra dance tunes, Irish and old time songs. Bluegrass, gospel and other acoustic music are certainly welcome, we just tend towards the tunes in our tune book and the "Carpilation" book from the Carp Camp at Winfield. Join this group and look in the files area to see sheet music and midi files for our regular tunes. Start:
Steve Kaufman, 3 time winner of the National Flatpicking Championships and author of more than 100 instructional materials as well as 18 recordings, brings his extensive repertoire to Mass Street Music. Steve is a masterful entertainer, from bluegrass, swing, Appalachian to folk and country classics. Join us for this special evening.
