Kansas State Fiddling & Picking Championships Weekend - Open Acoustic Jam Session Start: 23 Aug 2008 6:30 pm The evening before the annual Kansas State Championships is a jam session. This year it starts at 6:30 in Lawrence's South Park on Saturday the 26th. More information is on their web site, including details of the competition that starts at noon the next day. Rain location: The Community Building 11th & Vermont (adjacent to the park) Kansas State Fiddling and Picking Championships Start: 23 Aug 2008 6:30 pm The Kansas State Fiddling and Picking Championships will be celebrating their 28th year in 2008. Some of the best musicians from around the state will gather in order to celebrate traditional acoustic music. The two-day event will be held on August 23th and 24th at South Park, in Lawrence, Kansas. Admission to all events in free; there is a $5 entry fee for contestants. Pre-registration for contests can be done at www.kansasfiddlingandpicking.org. Registration for entering competitions is 20-minutes before each contest.
