Collierville (TN) Historic Town Square Alive Once More with Bluegrass Music
The sweet sounds of bluegrass music are once again filling the Collierville Historic Town Square on Friday nights. With cooperation from Mother Nature, pickers and fans returned to the square on April 20, 2007, for a great kick-off of our eighth season! The gazebo and all the sidewalks were once again filled with bluegrass musicians and their friends. There were folks of all ages at the square, having fun and listening to our fine local musicians playing bluegrass and old-time music. It's a free, open jam. All skill levels are welcome. If you don't pick, we know you grin, so come on out!
Many of the restaurants on or near the square are open at night, and there is even talk among the shop owners on the square about staying open late on Friday nights to accommodate our growing crowd. We like the sound of that! To eat a good meal, to shop throughout the square, and to stop by and listen to bluegrass...man, there's nothing like it!
The Collierville Historic Town Square is located in the heart of downtown Collierville, TN, where Main, Mulberry, and Center Streets surround the beautiful park. You can eat in an old-fashioned dining car on a train. You can stroll and discover the history of Collierville by reading historic markers. You can check out an early Shelby County log cabin. And then there's that music--the music that takes you back to a simpler time when people got together and just played for the sheer enjoyment of it.
Join us on Friday nights from now through early fall. We're at the square from 6:30-ish PM CDT 'til the last note is picked. Sometimes that's kinda late! We'll go ahead and start but we'll keep an eye out for you.
